Transplant to Engraftment - Day 5

Dear Friends and Family,

Many prayers have been offered to God on Trudy's behalf, for that we are eternally thankful. Please continue and intensify those prayers.

Trudy is struggling so with side effects, too many to list. We ask for the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, for her travail is beyond anything I've seen her endure in the past. It seems that the stem cell transplant process is even tougher than we were able to know until experienced personally. Not only does Trudy have zero immunity, but there is a battle royal going on between her body and the not one but two intruders. As we were just discussing, of these intruders will one day come her greatest physical ally...bringing health and strength. But at this moment they act as mortal enemies. Further, the drugs that are facilitating a coming peace pact are themselves creating a kind of physical, mental, psychological stress; as these anti-rejection meds cause potentially dangerous fluid retention and an upheaval of the delicate balance of the electrolytes that regulate so many important autonomic functions.

Trudy would feel so much better to have a restful night. Oh, that tonight she would experience blessed sleep.

Thanks and blessings,
Trudy and Robert
