Transplant to Engraftment Day 3

Hi Y'all,

Seems to me as though night time is the worst for us when we don't feel well. Trudy had a pretty calm day, very few side effects. At 7:00 p.m., which is shift change, Trudy told the night nurse that this would be a calm night...which I will only say was not prophetic.

However, Trudy is another day removed from the chemo and another day closer to no more of its ornery ol' side effects. Also, she is one day closer to engraftment. Further, what she is experiencing is expected and common, especially for Cord Blood transplants patients. During her conversation with Dr. Shpall this morning, Trudy was complimentary of the nursing and support staff to which Dr. Shpall said: "MDA has the very best nurses I've ever seen." Well, we certainly have seen equal excellence in our home hospital, but we agree with her sentiment; these nurses and support staff are superb! We thank God that He has placed her under the care of such a great team and at such a great hospital.

We pray that the side effects will lessen, that the engraftment will take place in good time, and that the healing process, far beyond our comprehension, will be complete in Trudy.

Blessings,
Trudy and Robert
