Home From Houston

Hello Friends and Family,

Trudy is back home after a full day of Cancer fighting at M. D. Anderson Hospital. The day was filled with constant appointments and activity. The labs were no picnic but the blood specimens gave good results...the WBC, RBC, and Platelet counts were all in excellent ranges.

The next thing was the Bone Marrow Biopsy. Trudy had expected the usual Bone Marrow Aspiration, but the "Biopsy" change means an extra cumbersome dig into the hip bone. This extra procedure is physically challenging and can be quite painful...it was surely all that. After the procedure, Trudy and Robert went for a long walk which is prescribed for the best recovery and quickest healing from the procedure wound, and also helpful mentally as well...as it kind of helps in getting past a briefly traumatic event.

After a delicious lunch at the Rotary House and a stroll back across the Sky Bridge, it was on to the examination room where Dr. Koller soon appeared. He spoke of many positive things that have been a part of Trudy's experience and was very encouraging towards her progress. Dr. Koller doesn't talk much about his own journey, and he looks quite well, but we could tell that he knows from personal experience, the constant challenges of battling cancer. The results from the BMB won't be know for a few days and a chromosome analysis won't be known for three to four weeks...so we will catch up to those areas as we can...and we'll then post the updates.

If you don't already know, Robert's brother Jack, had a Gamma Knife procedure today with good news and promising results expected. We prayerfully thank God for the good news of today as we continually seek Him for complete wellness. Thanks for your prayers. You are more appreciated than we can possibly express.

Blessings,
Trudy and Robert
