Platelets Remain in the Top Prayer Position

Trudy and I are so thankful for your prayer support for her incredible journey over these last 20 months of cancer fighting. You are appreciated in the most heartfelt way.

The results from yesterday's labs are encouraging at several points. Her WBC's are in the normal range (even without Neupogen support) and her RBC's are as close to the normal range as they have been this whole time. Her Platelets showed some upward movement but remain quite suppressed. The BMA report is still being analyzed by the pathologist and Dr. Koller for clues as to getting the platelets to rise further. As of yesterday, they recommend that Trudy continue to follow the present strategy of no oral chemo meds and a couple of other meds that can have a downward effect on platelets.

In the meantime, Trudy is feeling well and fully able to accomplish all of her professional duties as a teacher of Chemistry and Physics. In fact, she is going full speed ahead in most every area. The only thing is being extra careful not to get a cut or bruise what with the low platelets.

We thank God that the BMA affirmed that once again there is no evidence of Leukemia. Thanks again for joining our prayers that the platelet concern will soon resolve, that she will avoid any bruises or bleeding situations, that her general health will be good, strength will continue to make gains, and that Leukemia and all cancer issues will stay away.
