Wednesday in Central Louisiana

Hello Friends and Family,

In re-reading the blog entry from yesterday, I realized that I didn't communicate that we are back home! After our meeting with Dr. Koller, Monday afternoon, Trudy was scheduled for a Platelet transfusion to give a boost in that important area. That procedure was not over until 10:30pm, so we got a room at a motel for the rest of the night. Tuesday, we drove home and arrived around 2:00 pm.

Today, we were back at Rapides Regional Hospital for her regular labs and are happy to report that all levels remained high enough so that no transfusions were needed. Trudy and I then went to Tioga High School for the first time sense this journey began, back in February. She was a just a little emotional to enter those halls of learning, and to see some familiar co-workers who happened to be there, but I do think she was glad to be there for a brief visit. Folks, while she is still in the midst of treatments and has a good way to go, she is determined to get all the way back. I wish you could have seen her and heard her in "teacher" mode this morning!

Dr. Koller, as a Christian man, told Trudy this on Monday: "Prayer is so important" in this process. "Encourage all your friends and family to pray" and to "let you know of their prayers." Trudy told him right away about the thousands of people supporting her in prayer. Thanks so much for praying, for caring, and for encouraging. Perhaps you'll never know how much your prayers and your words have helped. Every prayer, and every "Guestbook" entry, every email, phone call, visit, note, and so many other ways of expression are helpful beyond words.
