Home Safe and Sound

Hello Friends and Family,

Trudy and Katy made it home safe and sound last night around 10:30 p.m.. It was a long, long day punctuated by a long wait at the BMA Clinic, but they accomplished everything on the agenda.

Dr. Koller was patient and encouraging as he answered Trudy's questions and informed her that as of now she is on NO chemo drugs. She is to continue to get labs done locally to keep an eye on her blood counts, but nothing else. The BMA procedure, after a very long wait, went well and Trudy reports minimal soreness. Last stop was Dr. Giralt, the Stem Cell Transplant doctor. His introduction into the physician team a few months back, is for the possibility that the need for a Stem Cell Transplant could materialize at some point, and if so, we will be knowledgeable of the procedure and familiar with the team that will do the work. At this point, his visits with Trudy are brief and more about building a good base of knowledge from tests and consultations, that prayerfully won't be needful.

We are thankful for the excellent care and compassion of her M.D.Anderson medical team and for the excellent results that Trudy has experienced. I'm glad that Katy was able to go with her on this trip, meet the teams, and help with the driving. Thanks, Katy! And we thank God for watching over us and providing guidance and His healing touch. We ever pray that Trudy will continue to be free from the A.L.L., and any other cancer related issues. Oh, yes, and please pray that her platelet counts will be steady and strong.

Blessings,
Trudy and Robert
