New Week, More Prayer Requests

Hello again,

Your stop by this blog is awesome, thanks! There are a couple of events in Trudy's week that we want to share with you.

First, while she remains on maintenance chemo, the strategy has been adjusted to a more aggressive approach to optimize the great results that she has already experienced. Her Leukemia Team has her taking one of the oral chemo meds (long name, just call it 6MP) more often. This approach will suppress her blood level counts even more than before. To alleviate the problem of lack of immunity bearing WBC's, she will have weekly injections of Neupogen. To alleviate the problem of lack of RBC's and the lack of energy and stamina that will result, she will receive occasional injections of Procrit. The shots are no FUN, but they will allow more Leukemia banishing meds while allowing her to maintain some immunity and energy.

Secondly, Trudy has done super-great since last weeks update. She drove down below Forest Hill, LA, to the Tall Timbers Retreat Center for a great weekend with Wendy (and dozens of ministers wives). It was a time of spiritual replenishment, camaraderie with other women, and always welcome time with Wendy. In case you're wondering, Kirk did great with the children (with a little help from "Pops" part of the time).

We feel and appreciate the prayers so very much. Please pray that this present strategy will be well tolerated by Trudy, that she will feel well, and that the Leukemia will continue to stay away.

Blessings,
Trudy and Robert
