Friday Update from M.D.Anderson:
Hello friends and family. I am with Trudy in her hospital room for this note. We want to say "thank you" for your prayers, concerns, and love. As you might guess, those expressions mean so very much and give Trudy a truly positive experience every day. Wendy is coming to spend a couple of days and we are excited about seeing her! Thanks Kirk, Daniel, Melanie, Kara, and Fellowship Church family for making her visit possible.
Trudy has had a challenging week, with a severe blood infection. She is a valiant warrior, seeking each day to meet the challenges, knowing the presence of the Lord and the tremendous prayer support that is on her behalf will bear her along. Today, she is feeling a little better, but still a little weak and under the weather. The infection has affected her liver functioning, and the Doc's feel that everything should start coming around . . . but please keep praying . . . she is ready to start feeling "herself" again. Her first phase of chemo is complete. She is to begin phase two on March 28.
I'm afraid the hospital seems to have lost confidence in my ability to sleep in the standard "plush" chair . . . they have us in a room with a "pull-down" twin sized bed . . . with a real mattress! Not only that, but the room has a private bathroom/shower. Pretty nice accommodations for the patients guest.
Again, thanks for caring sooooo much about Trudy. Please pray that her internal systems will begin to normalize during the rest of this day.
Blessings, Robert
