Month Eleven of Maintenance

Hello All,

Here is the latest from Trudy, and thanks so much for checking the blog.

On Monday (5/5), Trudy got a great start on the eleventh month of her Maintenance Chemo. Each month begins with an infusion of Vincristine and oral "mega-doses" of Prednisone. The Vincristine's most felt side-effect is muscle cramps, making it a challenge for Trudy's delicate craft of tatting. However, the cramping muscles have not stopped her, she works right on through the discomfort. The Prednisone has it's own side effects...puffiness, redness, antsy feelings, difficulty in sleeping, and emotionality. Nevertheless, Trudy refuses to let these side effects get her down or inhibit her from doing the things she loves. You go girl!!

By the way cousin Chris and other interested parties,
tatting is a technique for handcrafting a particularly beautiful lace constructed by a series of knots and loops. Trudy makes lace edging as well as doilies, collars, and most often, Christmas ornaments.

On all fronts, Trudy continues to do well and gain strength. We are so very thankful for her progress and we know that there is power in all the prayers going up to our Lord on her behalf. We pray that she will be able to keep getting stronger as she has notified her school that she will be back in her Chemistry and Physics classes in AUGUST!! And, we pray that the Leukemia will stay away.

Blessings,
Trudy and Robert
