After 13 Days . . .

Trudy is at home. She had another fairly long day of the discharge process. We have learned, that just because the doctor announces, "I'm discharging you today," that does not mean that you are going home any time soon. Seems that today, as an earlier time in Houston, her "Picc Line" needed some attention. After all the infusions of medications, and drawing of labs, the very important Picc Line has a tendency to get clogged. Lest I sound fussy though, I can tell you that we are quite happy that the line is now nice and clear and that Trudy is finally at home. She is already at work . . . she has eaten a good supper and she is going to do some time on the treadmill.

She is not fully recovered from Course Four, though. Please pray that her Platelets will recover to adequate levels. They have hovered around the "20" level and they must recover to at least "70" before she can be pronounced ready for Course Five. We pray that they even move beyond that to around "200" just to be really solidly ready.

Also, we pray that this week will be a time for her nutrition, and strength-building exercise to improve. That would give her the energy and strength she needs to withstand the side-effects that accompany the treatments.

When we look at the blog, see the number of visitors, and read the guest book entries we stand amazed. All your love, prayers, and encouragement reminds me of the way in which one of my seminary professors would quote an ancient Hebrew expression: "WOW!"

Blessings,
Trudy and Robert
