We Are Back On Tioga Road . . . that is, for a few days. When we met with Dr. Koller Monday just before noon, he prescribed another week of antibiotic treatment. Then, in his most matter of fact manner, he said, "I think you ought to go home for the week."
He also prescribed some restricitons . . . which we of course will follow and know that you would want for us. Trudy does not need to be around people beyond her family. Everyone, even the husband, must observe the strictest of caution. When she must venture out in the public, she is to maintain a "four feet" distance, etc.
Well, we agreed, and the process began. It was about 5:00PM before we were finally on the road (Houston traffic at 5!), and we got to our house around 11:20PM. Ever since our children were little, when we pull up to our house we sing the refrain: "Home again, home again, Jiggity Jog." Last night the refrain had some tearful joy . . . it had been since February 28th, since Trudy had last been home.
We are glad to be home, we feel a little funny being away from our Houston medical team, and we don't like the restrictions. But, with God as her guide, Trudy will have a great few days, she will get stronger, the nasty infection will finally and completely die, and she will be ready for Course Two.
